Aims and Objectives
Saint Chad’s Church Preschool has a clear Christian identity. It operates on the Christian principals of respect for self and others, acceptance of all cultures, responsible behaviour and enjoyment through the activities we provide.
The purpose of Saint Chad’s Church Preschool is to provide a safe and welcoming environment where children have the opportunity to take part in a variety of activities and experiences, as we seek to meet the diverse development of each individual child.
Saint Chad’s Church Preschool Aims To
Be a community which reflects the love of God in our relationships, standards and way of life.
Promote learning about the Life and Ministry of Jesus Christ as well as the beliefs and practises of Saint Chad’s Church.
Adhere to the OFSTED regulated 14 National standards set by the Government to promote the welfare and development of children.
Plan learning and play activities, following the foundation stage national curriculum programme.
Work in partnership with parents and carers.
Play a positive role in helping children separate from their main carers and prepare them for primary school.
Promote, and encourage, self-confidence, self-respect, self-expression and respect for others.
Promote social and practical skills through sharing and working together.
Be positive role models for the children.
Seek to be a clear reflection in the community of values, relationships and compassion, offered in the Kingdom of God.
As with all pre-school and nursery groups, we are required, by law, to have an admittance procedure that is both consistent and fair. With this in mind, the Parochial Church Council have agreed the following criteria is to be followed when admitting children into St. Chad's Pre-School.
Order Of Priority
Children who are eligible for a 2 or 3+ year-old funded placement and:
live within the parish boundary of Saint Chad's, Chadwell Heath;
live outside the parish boundary of Saint Chad's, Chadwell Heath.
Children whose referral is supported by an outside agency or professional body.
Children whose parent/carer is a regular attendee at Saint Chad's Church (by this we mean about twice a month).
Date of registration.
The coordinator will make the final decision, especially taking into consideration the overall balance of the pre-school group.
When a place becomes available, all those of eligible age on the waiting list will be considered - according to the ‘Order of Priority’ above.
The coordinator will contact the parent/carer, by post or telephone, offering their child a place.
A starting date for the child will be provided and agreed upon.
An opportunity will be given to the parent/carer to view our facilities and meet the staff, prior to the starting date.
Parents should be aware that admittance to St. Chad's Pre-School does not give their child any preference when applying to Saint Edward’s Primary School (or other Church of England school). Only regular attendance at Saint Chad’s (or other Christian church) will count towards your application.
